Solid Vinyl Installation

Perforated Vinyl Installation

Step-by-Step Installation

1

Clean the Window

This is the most critical step! A perfectly clean surface ensures the best adhesion.

  • Spray glass cleaner generously on your back window
  • Wipe in horizontal strokes, then vertical to catch all debris
  • Pay extra attention to edges where dust collects
  • Dry completely with a lint-free cloth
  • Wait 5-10 minutes to ensure no moisture remains
Pro Tip: Clean both inside and outside - dirt on either side can show through perforated decals!
2

Position Your Decal

Before removing any backing, find the perfect placement.

  • Hold the decal up to your window (backing still on)
  • Center it horizontally on the glass
  • Align the bottom edge with the window seal
  • Use masking tape to mark the position
  • Step back and check it looks straight
3

Peel the Backing

Carefully prepare the decal for application.

  • Lay the decal face-down on a clean, flat surface
  • Slowly peel the backing paper at a 45-degree angle
  • Don't let the adhesive side touch itself
  • For large decals, peel only the top portion first
4

Apply the Decal

Take your time with this step for the best results.

  1. Start at the top - Align with your tape marks
  2. Work slowly downward - Lower the decal gradually
  3. Squeegee from center out - Push air bubbles toward edges
  4. Apply firm, even pressure - This activates the adhesive
  5. Continue peeling and pressing - Work in sections for large decals
5

Trim & Finish

Perfect the edges for a professional look.

  • Use a sharp utility knife to trim along the window seal
  • Cut slowly to avoid scratching the glass
  • Press firmly along all edges for complete adhesion
  • Give it one final squeegee pass

⚠️ Important: After Installation

  • Wait 24-48 hours before washing your vehicle
  • Avoid automatic car washes with brushes for 1 week
  • Hand wash recommended for the first month
  • Small bubbles are normal - they typically disappear within a few days

Troubleshooting

Air Bubbles?

Small bubbles often disappear on their own. For larger ones, poke a tiny hole with a pin at the edge and press the air out with your squeegee.

Edges Lifting?

Warm the vinyl with a hair dryer (not too hot), then press firmly and hold for 30 seconds. The heat reactivates the adhesive.

Wrinkles?

Stop immediately! Carefully peel back to before the wrinkle, then reapply slowly using your squeegee to maintain tension.

Decal Longevity

With proper maintenance, your premium vinyl decal can be expected to last 3-5 years outdoors.
